Real quick before getting into my now page, you may be wondering why this exists. I decided to add this to my site as a way to keep people who know me updated on what has been going on in my life the past couple of weeks or months, and anything interesting I have going on or coming up in the near future.
This is what I have been up to lately (last updated 11/16/25):
I started classes for my MBA this fall. Definitely a transition in learning and thinking compared to what I've been doing the past 8 years, but still a rewarding challenge. This past spring I finished my Translational Pharmacology Masters, which was a two year endeavor. What is translational pharmacology you ask? In short it's basically the application of molecular and preclinical pharmacology research into clinical practice, with a focus on drug design, discovery, and development. People often ask me what I plan to "do" with these degrees, and the honest answer is I'm not sure yet. I'm perfectly happy with my life right now so there is a very good chance I'm learning for the sake of learning. With how technology is progressing though I don't think it's a bad idea to future proof myself in every way possible, plus you never know what doors may open in the future with extra credentials and a beefier CV.
In my career I changed roles this past summer from being primarily inpatient in the cancer hospital (mostly working in the OR) to working primarily in the outpatient infusion setting. My biggest interest in medicine outside of psych is the growing sector of personalized medicine and immunotherapy. Oncology infusion allows me to be on the cutting edge of new therapies, particularly with the large number of clinical trials I get to work with daily. In particular I studied bispecific antibody treatments during my Pharmacology Masters program, and getting to work with the actual phase II and III clinical trials for those drugs now is pretty cool.
I am currently rereading Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys fantasy and massive tomes. The non-fiction book I am slowly working my way through at the moment is Destiny Disrupted by Tamim Ansary.
Outside of reading, I am spending time as usual going on runs, hitting the gym (not nearly as consistently as I should), and walking our dog leaf.
Speaking of our dog leaf, he's fully recovered from his Achilles rupture and subsequent surgery. It's been about a year since he was fully cleared and you wouldn't even know he was injured if you saw him today.
Thank you for visiting.
